JOB SUMMARY:

Bralorne Gold Mines is recruiting a Geologist In Training (GIT) or Mine Geological Technician (MGT) to join its Geological Team in Bralorne, BC. Under the Supervision of the Mine Manager, with technical support and guidance from the Senior Mining Advisor, Consulting Geologist and Senior Geologists the GIT/MGT will carry out all geological work required to return the Bralorne Gold Mine to production. The primary focus of this role will be designing and implementing a substantial exploration program focused on building the current resource base through new discovery in a near-mine environment. It will include updating all historic data, planning / supervising surface and underground exploration programs to facilitate discovery. All plans will be kept up to date for updating the Resource / Reserve estimates on an annual basis. This position is for an initial 12-month limited term contract with the potential to become permanent. These positions will be based at Bralorne, BC or on a rotation of 2 weeks on followed by 2 weeks off or otherwise agreeable to the Company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and executes geological exploration programs for surface and underground
  • Manages and executes core logging and sampling practises to NI 43-101 standards
  • Prepares assessment reports for all geological work and submits them to the appropriate government authorities on a timely basis
  • Manages any testwork required regarding mineralogical work
  • Prepares and maintains reports and documents required to manage the geological activities for mining and resource calculations
  • Works closely with the mine engineering department and supervision to carry out work on a timely basis
  • The Company’s representative in managing the consultants and contractors engaged for surface and underground drilling
  • Reviews the technical plans prepared by consultants and contractors in conjunction with site and senior management
  • Works with mine management and supervision to ensure that the consultants and contractors are following work and safety procedures established for the specific jobs
  • Works with mine management and senior management to advance and maintain relations with the First Nations
  • Mentors and supervises geologists reporting to him or her
  • Takes on other work as requested by the mine manager that takes priority over geology
  • Learns and understands the design and operation of the Tailings Storage Facility

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Geology,  Geological Engineering from a university or a graduate from a technical college
  • Other related academic work would be an asset
  • Preference to a professional geologist registered in BC, or be on a quick path towards becoming one
  • Two to Five years of experience
  • Preference to someone with underground experience
  • Responsible and accountable for self-directed work
  • Develops effective relationships with key stakeholders and the Bralorne team
  • Able to identify, analyse and solve problems
  • Organized and can meet deadlines
  • Professional level oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in all computer software related to this position
  • Successfully manages large complex documents and spreadsheets
  • Fluency in Spanish would be an asset
  • Fire Fighting training would be an asset or willingness to complete the training
  • Mine Rescue training would be an asset of willingness to complete the training and join the team
